Preparing for the 1st Gab Party

Time will Tell
Preparing for the 1st Gab Party

The start of any new venture is a journey into the unknown.  As we at Tutorgab work feverishly to get everything ready for our first gab party (11th Feb!), the words ‘time will tell’ and other such clichés are appearing ever increasingly in our conversations.

There are things that we are sure about.  We know many of you will be thinking ‘what kind of name is Tutorgab!?’, but fortunately we also know that you won’t forget it in a hurry.  We also know that with our blend of experience, enthusiasm and our appreciation of Thai people and culture we can help our students achieve their English goals.  And, above all, we are in no doubt that gab parties are a simply fantastic idea.

Briefly, let me explain the concept of the gab party.  All over Thailand and indeed the world, there are millions of English learners who just want to practice their English.  Classrooms and textbooks are a crucial part of language learning, but they are simply no substitute for open and free conversation.  Gab parties aim to address this need.  At a gab party, people will have the chance to meet and get to know other English learners as well as native-speakers and simply enjoy conversing in English.  Of course, there’ll be a few activities and surprises along the way – trust us, people will be talking about gab parties long after everyone has gone home!  These events will be held at a variety of venues: coffee shops, restaurants, bars etc., and each one will be reassuringly different from the last.  All are welcome and the only rule is: English must be spoken at all times.

See, we told you, it is a fantastic idea.  Gab parties should be a great success; they should change the way English learners in Thailand learn English – but, only time will tell.  The first party is on the 11th and so the race is on to get the word out there, to make sure the inaugural gab party is everything it should be, because we know, if nobody shows up there won’t be a party and neither will there be any gabbing.  Let’s wait and see.

Help us make our first gab party a success.  If you’re in Thailand and you’re free on the 11th of Feb – come along!  And tell your friends to come too!  Share this blog and tell your friends about Tutorgab – it’s not all parties you know – we also do private tuition, proof-reading, translation and a lot more.
